The only thing I grew up using a pressure cooker for was to make beans. Don't really know of other uses...

I made a roast in ours once. It took about 45 mins and was pretty good.

I don't think I'd ever get one. I enjoy slow cooking things, and to be honest, there is no room in my kitchen for another appliance!
