Natural pain relief Update

I just had a root canal done yesterday and am in so much pain. What can I do? I am wearing my amber but I would really prefer not to take the pain meds that they prescribed. Anything I can do besides wait it out?

Update: Thanks for all the advice. Ended up having to go back and found out my bite was off. He fixed the bite and it's already starting to feel better.

Honestly I don't know if there is anything that can take that type of pain away. I would take motrin or ibiprofin instead of the prescription itreduces swelling and pain so that should help.

ouch!

I don't know if any natural remedies will touch that kind of pain. Maybe try some tylenol or ibuprofen, but I don't know how well that will work either.

Ibuprofen eases swelling, I would take that personally.  If you can think of anything herbal that eases swelling that is "safe" then use that.  I cant think of any that I wuold consider safe

You can dilute a single drop of clove oil in olive oil and gently rub that on somehow. Clove is fantastic for dental pain, though I've never used it for something like this.
I agree with the others, too, sometimes some OTC meds like ibuprofen are warranted. Just please take it with food so it doesn't rip a hole in your stomach!

Arnica is a good thing for post-operative pain.
