I have avoided cleaning my shower because I don't like to use chemicals not to mention when I'm pregnant so today I said "f" it and did the method above. I'll never use anythig else in my bathroom!

Nope. You may remember the reaction obtained in a science class when vinegar and baking soda are mixed. That reaction is mildly corrosive and does wonders on tough stuff like shower scum and the inside of ovens. Lemon juice is great if your shower isn't really bad, but if it is just do as the OP suggested :-)
