What treats are on your list?

Any tips for cutting out some of the sugar/substitutes?

I haven't thought about it yet. I want to make all sugar-free and gluten-free this year and I'm hoping some of the paleo food blogs I follow will have some recipes out after Thanksgiving.

I won't make very many since DH doesn't have a big sweet tooth and paleo desserts tend to be expensive.

Pie for sure

I always just cut the sugar (whatever it is) by like half.

I bake breads and cookies.. mostly using whole grains, natural sugar, etc. Not really going low fat or cal because, at least for us and family/friends, it is a holiday treat!

I did my very first pecan pie today. I don't like pecans but we have a huge crop from our two trees so I figured I'd try to use some of them. The hardest part was shelling them! We'll have them processed as soon as we get them all picked up but we have a long way to go so we did one batch by hand. My husband's family has always loved his Gram's pecan pies and she passed away this summer so I got her recipe and did a trial run today for a get-together with my family. They all loved it so I'll try again with his family on Thursday. I plan to also do a pumpkin loaf and maybe some candies pecans if I can shell that many.

We don't cut sugars or anything for the holidays. They're special so we go all in! ;)
