My son is 15 months and roughly 27lbs. I need a new carrier because the moby isn't cutting it anymore. How much weight will a ring sling hold and how easy are they to get baby in alone? Or should I just go for the ergo? How much weight will the ergo hold? What's a better choice overall? I need something easy on my back because its not the greatest :/ Thanks ladies :)

I would go with the ergo over a ring sling with an older/heavier child.
That said I prefer my boba

1 mom liked this
I have a 38lb 3 year old that I carry comfortably in both a ring sling and my ergo. The ring sling does become uncomfortable after about an hour or so though. I can carry him on my back in the ergo for a long time though. We went all over Disney with him on my back. That being said, I prefer the Boba as well. He sits deeper in it and provides him more back support.

I like nursing better in the rs but for longer periods it is really uncomfortable. I love my ergo and ds falls asleep in it if we walk for more than 15-20 mins :) I think Ergo goes to 45 lbs

I would go with an upright carrier like an ergo, beco or boba

I was gonna say Ergo too. I've never tried a Boba but something along those lines over a RS. It's a quick in and out but not good for longer periods.

I never liked the RS for toddler years...she was heavy and wiggly, so it would sag. I have had a love affair with my Beco for months, so I would suggest Ergo.
