wondering what teas are safe during first trimester (and beyond).  i'm a coffee person and have given it up upon learning of my pregnancy. but i live in CT and it's COLD here and i need a few warm beverages a day! i am having one cup of RRL tea daily, but is there a tea that is safe to drink more than once a day? peppermint perhaps?? thanks!

you can drink RRL up to three times a day once you hit the second trimester (although I drank in three times a day the whole time) adding honey to it makes it taste better.

There is a list of teas at the end of this:

I LOVE RRL :) I also drink nettle tea mixed (nettle tastes very earthy but the rrl helps). I also like drinking chai (it does have caffine though.

Most teas are ok, is there a particular herbal tea you were thinking of?

Peppermint is fine and might help with nausea, but can decrease your supply if you are breastfeeding.

Some I like.. ginger, chamomile, spearmint, raspberry leaf, chai, and black.

My midwife recommends 2 to 3 QUARTS per day!  I was absolutely shocked, but her experience has shown a great recovery of client who indulge in that much.  (She has a recipe of RRL and nettles and a few others)...
