My 6 yr old has the flu and after a visit to the health food store I came home with Viralaurin to help the rest of us fight off these germs - it contains Monolauric Acid, Vitamin D3 and Olive leaf extract - My question is can I take this while breastfeeding? Some websites say yes others say no. I also made some Elderberry syrup for the family - am assuming this is fine for me just wanted to make sure!

Elderberry is safe for pregnancy and BF. Not sure about the others.

I'm not sure about Viralaurin, but Elderberry syrup should be fine as long as the syrup you made doesn't have honey in it.  If you need pure elderberry juice, make it without the honey--or consider buying it online from a place like http://elderberrylife.com.  Good luck!  Feel better!
