ok, so a friend last night asked me for recommendations for someone to encapsulate her placenta. I told her I would do it, I just need a dehyrater. I did it for my third child, someone lent me her dehydrater, and I did it for a friend, who had a dehydrater. So, now I'm looking into getting a dehydrater (we may split the cost). Also, when I did mine encapsulation I steamed it first, and the smell really bothered me. I ended up taking the pills only for a bit and then I decided to stop because it reminded me of the smell. This time I would do it raw (for her as well). Another thing is that it was really hard doing them after having a baby. Dh was no help (he actually had me do it when he left the house), so I don't know if its worth doing it this time around or not, with 4 kids.... I just don't know. I definitely can't afford to hire anyone, I am stilling trying to work out how I can pay the midwife. So, what do you think? Should I do it this time around? I have had really bad anxiety with my third, and I think it may have helped with that.
I would do it but maybe get a babysitter to help out for the day.
oh yeah, great idea!

wish I lived closer I would love to see how you do it and help you.
Its really easy, just time consuming. Here is how I learned: http://www.cafemom.com/group/2212/forums/read/11246109/Placenta_Encapsulation_Instructions_w_pictures

Is there anyone who can help you with the kiddos so you can do it? Would your midwife be willing to start the process during the 3-4hours after baby (especially if you have a homebirth)?

Quoting VintageWife: I think you should do it for sure.
