Its 100.6 under arm. I know thats not HIGH but its her first time being sick & I feel horrible. When do you guys usually start meds for your youngsters??

Edit
Its an ear infection

3/4
its starting all over. Fever, puking, cranky, extra cuddles, pour sleeping. I think its another ear infection. I also think her second tooth is coming (first cut at the same time as the last infection)

Quoting larissalarie: The number is meaningless, plus fevers have a job to do, medicating them prevents them from doing it as effectively. I only medicate a fever if if they are listless or at bedtime if it's making them uncomfortable and preventing sleep from happening. Otherwise I leave it alone.

Motrin or Tylenol for a temp of 100.5 and higher, especially if in pain. Sorry she is sick : (   Actually, it is very important to have a working thermometer. A temp of 104 and higher can be dangerous in a child.

That is not true. I've had kids with temps over 105, only a couple times that I am aware of, but they made it through.

I don't own a thermometer either. Haven't taken temps in years really. The child's behaviour is more important. I only give meds if they show other signs of serious discomfort.
