If it is a wood seet the pee could be absorbed into the seat itself, at that point there is nothing you can do but get a new one. We put new seats on about every 2 years because of the boys. The plastic ones break too easily, but if I could get the little one to use the step stool instead of the toilet to reach the sink, I'd go back to using thlastic seat instead of the more sturdier wood...simply because of the sink issue.
