Am I the only one?
My only requests were no Epidural, no csection if it was still safe, IV drugs.
if you did, how'd you come up with it?
I was basically concerned with their newborn treatment, so my wishes were no Hep B shot, no eye drops, no formula, baby kept with mama, no pokes before bonding, etc.
I had a few concerns so I did have a page long birthplan. I included things that were important to me but not hospital policy. No saline lock, eat as desired in labor, no interns/observers, nursing immediately after birth, bonding before routine newborn procedures were done, no PKU, no hep b or vit k, no eye ointment, early discharge, etc. they had a lot of baby friendly policies that I kept off my birth plan (as it would have been redundant) such as baby placed on chest immediately after delivery, baby kept in room, no pacifiers, no formula, etc.
Google "birth plan". There are a lot of different ones. I found one with check off boxes and then added some other stuff to it.
Quoting Mrs.Salz:The birthplan for my hospital birth was about a page long.
After lots of reading and research, I knew what I wanted.
If I have another one, I'm not sure if I will write up one. I'm greatful I had her vaginally. I thought about the one with the checkboxes
i didnt have one because i trusted my midwife and had a homebirth. i knew that if i transfered in case of an emergency she would be able to best advocate for me and lay out my real options :)
Congratulations, that's great news!
