‎"And according to a newly published study, introducing rice and corn at 6 months, like Gerber’s rice cereal — “Baby’s first food” — increases the risk of food allergies, while introducing wheat before 6 months and eggs and fish before 9 months results in a decreased risk for asthma and allergies. Yeah this confused me because of AAP and WHO saying no solids before 6 months, PLUS our body doest have the enzymes to process grains that young so its strange

That's interesting. Ds has had "allergen" foods like peanut butter, eggs and strawberries but I thought wheat couldn't be digested well until after one. ?

I've never been concerned about the "allergenic"foods like eggs, peanut butter, etc, they get those anytime after we start solids, but there's no way I'm gonna give
my kid wheat before 1, let alone 6 months!

I'm definitely not doing wheat before a year (if ever) with Evie (too late anyway lol, she's already 6 months), no dairy, eggs, or peanuts either!  Pippi had everything before 9 months-ish or so (no dairy though), and is allergic to them all!  Thank goodness never had a reaction to the peanut butter, she only had it once though

Yep this is true. Most adults don't digest grains very well either.

How would baby's first foods be related to asthma?
