Anything that offers support to the thighs and not the hips. Like the Baby Bjorn is HORRIBLE! Ergos are great. I made a Mei Tai and love it! DS2 is over twenty pounds and it is still going strong. I used a home Moby with him until he was three months and 15 pounds.

Personally, I haven´t enjoyed anything I have tried with straps or rings.  Once I learned how to tie a sliding knot / slip knot correctly, I have been able to use any 6 to 7 foot scarf as a baby carrier.
