A friend of mine from church had her baby Breech on the freeway last night!

If you remember my post about the lady who was in the hospital for low fluids. Well she was sent home told to drink lots of water. She had to change doctors because the ones in town wouldn't take her insurance. She was seeing a midwife but they transferred care because of her diabetes originally. She ended up going to see the specialist she had seen when they first were worried about the baby's size. He was really cool about it all and didn't even schedule a c-section because baby was breech and they thought the growth in her uterus was blocking her vaginal opening. The hospital they were going to is about 30 mins away. Guess baby came really fast and she said pretty much came herself. They posted a picture of her and she had bruising on her bottom but other then that look great. She weighted in at 4 lbs 15.8. Is so far doing good. She mentioned baby's temp being low and having to have her wrapped in several blankets. I asked If she tried kangaroo care. I am so happy for her. She really didn't want a c-section. The power of prayer right there!

Elise Rose  was born March 16th at 3:35 am on Interstate 5 in Lakewood. She weighs 4 lbs 15.8 oz and was 18 inches long. Late Friday night just before midnight I had a couple contractions while lying in bed that seemed stronger than the Braxton Hicks I'd been having. About a half hour later I noticed Nick wasn't in bed yet, and found him in the living room watching a movie. I told him about the contractions. Around 12:30 they were getting a bit stronger and I was breathing through them. We decided to call the doctor around 1am and see what we should do, knowing that we had been told I would have a C Section because baby Elise was in breech position, bottom first. He said to head to the hospital. We were going to St Joseph's in Tacoma due to seeing a specialist up there. Typically a 40 minute drive. We left around 2:50 am after packing up and Grandma arriving to stay with Ashlyn. Contractions were getting a bit more painful and I was getting short and serious. They got very painful in the car and after about 20 mins I was feeling lots of pressure down low. Suddenly I felt the urge to push. Nick sped up. Then I felt something was sticking out of me. Nick quickly pulled over and we found that the amniotic sac was sticking out!! I was freaking out. I kept having the urge to push and she just kept coming. Nick called 911 and prepared to deliver this baby, but they weren't so sure what to do because Baby was breech. A trooper followed by Paramedics arrived and within a minute or two I was uncontrollably pushing this baby out!! Kelly the paremedic caught her just in time. She was perfectly healthy at birth and we were put into an ambulance and brought to the hospital. While this birth was absolutely terrifying, we are so blessed that we are both healthy and even though this baby is teeny tiny, she is a champ and doing awesome. I avoided a C section and we are already home, starting our life as a family of 4!! Thank God for such an amazing story!!

That's great she had her vaginally!
My sisters oldest was barely 5 pounds and had a hard time maintaining her temperature at first too. They just told us to keep her wrapped and stop passing her around. Apparently being handed from one person to the next, picked up/layed down makes you use energy and lose heat.
Idk how true that is, but it did help and she got to come home.
