Bedwetting for a 7yr old

My 7, almost 8, yr old son still has occasional bed wetting problems. Since right before kindergarten they are probably only 1-3x a month, so doctor isn't concerned at all. We just clean up when necessary.

But he now has had an accident Wed, Thurs and tonight. I'm worried he may have an infection or something. Fri and Sat he spent the night with grandpa and did not have an accident, which makes me a little less worried. He does have a little cough and is currently taking Zyrtec so it doesn't turn into asthma. I know they are worse then too, but still concerned.

Thoughts? Experience with bed wetting with 5+? Anything I can do or look for? My daughter was both day and night trained before 2 1/2.

No experience personally but I have heard great things about chiropractic care for bedwetting. Look for someone who specializes in pediatrics.  I hope you can find a solution!

I've thought about that before. My chiropractor is also a pediatric chiropractor. I had brought this up to ds in the past and he has no interest in going. I read up on it since I couldn't sleep, and the studies don't actually show it helps. I'm thinking about maybe going back to some sort of pull ups since he said he wouldn't mind that. I know his dad and uncle had accidents until they were older, so maybe just a heriditary thing he has to outgrow.

My five year old started having day accidents when she started kindergartener. She still isn't over them. Her nd has checked for infection, sexual abuse, emotional trauma, and none of those seem to be the case. She set the bed a handful of times but stopped when I started making her change her own sheets in the middle of the night.
But generally, the nd and her teachers are not concerned because she is so young. If this continues to be a problem into first grade, they will be concerned. So my advice is to have him see his dr, especially if you suspect infection.

Oh, there are also a handful of homeopathic remedies for bed wetting, if you rule out infection you can try one of those.

My son is a bedwetter, he hasnt wet in about 3 weeks except for when he went camping with boy scouts BUT I still consider him a bed wetter.  He just turned 11.  He has been seen by urologists, he has taken meds, we have tried everything and nothing changed it.  Just age and physical maturity.

My son finds if he sleeps nude he doesnt bedwet ...sounds strange but  really think anything touching that area and he doesnt feel it in his sleep when he needs to go.  He sleeps very heavy!

Sounds like an infection which, IMHO, is easier to deal with than emotional issues.
I hope everything goes smoothly for him.

Good luck at the drs. Most kids with bed wetting have constipation. Is that a possibility?
