Did you have a fun name for your baby prior to birth?

I saw this in the pregnancy group and thought it was something fun.

Did you have any fun names for baby in utero?

We never really did.

We briefly called baby "Thor" due to an abbreviation that kept popping up on our 20 week ultrasound monitor.  (Still don't know what that abbreviation meant!)  But then we returned to saying "baby" as we weren't sure of the gender.

But our friends referred to their unborn as "Prawn" because of the way the spine looked in the ultrasounds.  Thankfully the nickname didn't stick after birth!!

We called our first Palindrome because we didn't find out her gender, so it "could go both ways," as hubs liked to say.

The second was dubbed Flower by my daughter, who took the name from her favorite stuffed animal. I still call her Flower.

Yup. All my babies have "bean" nicknames:

1) string bean - he was long and skinny, even on the ultrasound

2) jelly bean - short and round

3) jumping bean - so little she was jumping around inside me

4) coffee bean - always hyper

5) (current pregnancy) chili bean - because I'm craving spicy foods

My son I don't really remember.

My first surrogate son was Moon Baby (my then 2 year old just started calling him that one day)

My surrogate daughter was Darth Vader because my then 5 year old confided that that's what he thought she looked like on ultrasound

My second surrogate son was Big Tuna, named by my now-husband- then-boyfriend for no particular reason

My nephew/birthson was Optimus because his last name rhymes with 'prime.' My sister vehemently opposed Cletus the Fetus;)

I have already decided that I'm calling the next one Ripley (from Aliens)

We called the baby we just had the point guard because she was number 5, thus completing our basketball team.

Don't know how any of them came to be, really. Except tiny bones because, well, babies have tiny bones:)
