Placenta Encapsulation Question; Added Another Question

I'm looking it all up and when I started looking at purchasing the capsules I noticed the capsules have different sizes.

What size do I get?

Another question- how should the placenta be transferred home? My mom will bring it home for me until I get out of the birthing center (assuming I stay more than 6hrs, which is the minimum for that facility). Should it be on ice? Should it be placed directly in the freezer? How long (if it can be) can it be put in the fridge?

Okay. New question. lol

I was just doing some more digging and what I'm finding says size 0. What's the difference? Is this like gauges, so 00 is bigger than 0?

I think 00 is bigger. I've only used 00 for all my encapsulation (placenta & herbs).

Hold on and I'll take a picture of the pill it makes.

lol it's okay. I ended up going to bed shortly after posting and then cleaning today, until the heartburn picks up.

Thanks for the pics!

So how many 00s would you take? The encapsulation 'specialists' in my state make them in 0s and say UP TO 4/day.

Obviously I'm super new to this idea but I'm totally into it.

I take 2-4 a day for the first 4-6 weeks. Then 2 a day for a few more weeks. I have a lot in my freezer from my 6th and 8th babies that I take whenever I need a milk boost, mood boost, or extra energy. They are mostly used as my "happy pills". I can't take them now, though, because I'm pregnant again. It stimulates the uterus, so best to avoid until birth. The great part is I'll have some ASAP after birth until I can feel like encapsulating.

Very nice.

I guess I'm trying to figure out what I should be taking.

I had some PPD but I believe a good portion of it is attributed to my inability to breastfeed. Long story, but in short there was undiagnosed PCOS and my son was stillborn and the resuscitation process and getting him to where he needed to be prevented skin to skin contact and nursing for about 1.5hrs.

I want to try to ensure milk production because after 6 months of pumping and supplementing I gave up. It became too much.

There's so much more known now including about the placenta and the benefits it offers and other things such as Domperidone and Goat's Rue. I'm going to be having my daughter at a birth center so my stay could be as short as 6hrs after delivery. I'm hoping my mom will help me with this process so I can get it done and get started quicker.

I made a few slices into jerky (marinated them in teriyaki sauce to mask the mine rally taste) and dehydrated them. It was much faster acting than the pills. It sounds gross, but once you get past the mental block (I gagged the first time I took a bite), it's not bad. Plus, it's almost instant for mood issues (it was for me anyway). I'd just bite an inch piece off. I keep it in my freezer.

If you can stomach it, you might try that.

lol I don't think I could get past the mental block. It's taken me 5 months to get to this point of accepting encapsulating my placenta. lol

Maybe one piece, and the rest goes to encapsulation. lol
