Contractions!

What helped you deal with contractions? I have been having them since 2:30 am and they are finally getting stronger, so I am hoping this is the real thing this time!

Did anything in particular help you deal with them a lot easier?

Contractions are your friend, don't fight them. That's what is going to put the little one in your arms. Work with the contractions, when you feel one coming on, close your eyes and picture the contraction pulling your cervix open, relax the muscles so that they can do their work. If you tense it will hurt.

Breathing. Put on the relaxation channel on Pandora, think about a flower blooming and yourself opening up. Slow deep breaths, relax as much as possible between and don't anticipate the next wave. Keep a positive attitude. Your body can do this! Affirmations are great too. Playing or reciting, having someone else recite affirmations to you is great too. :-)

Breath with each contraction imagine your baby coming down. Also standing/sitting in a warm shower was a life saver!

ETA: just saw this was from yesterday, is baby here!?

Pacing helped me. And getting into the birthing tub made all the difference in the world!
