Pregnancy and weight loss?

I just started focusing on exercise and losing weight as I really wanted to lose a good 30 or 40 pounds before trying for a second baby. Well I was feeling off and AF was due today so I used a cheap wondfo strip and saw this. I saw an article somewhere about how losing weight when prego can be safe, you just have to go about it differently. Anybody have any info?

The best person to ask and get advice from is your ob, or a Heath specialist for pregnant women.

I don't see an OB and won't see a midwife for quite some time. I know their stance is to be healthy and maintain weight as I did that last pregnancy. They won't officially say to lose weight as they are afraid something will go wrong. I'm looking for the article I read before so I can read it again (i thought it was shared in this group) or any new articles.

Your best bet is to just continue to work out and eat right to keep your weight down during pregnancy. Your body seems to be pretty sure its ready to carry a baby so you should aim to keep it healthy during your pregnancy. Talk to a nutritionist through your Dr or midwife. They can offer you a diet plan to maintain a low weight gain that will likely melt off after the baby.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I would not TRY to lose weight while pregnant on purpose!  That being said I would change my diet and eat correct portions if overeatting before

Make sure you're eating a nice well rounded diet and getting regular exercise. Don't use pregnancy as a reason to overindulge and become inactive. If you happen to lose some weight while being healthy and getting plenty of nutrition through food, great. If not just maintaining/keeping the gain minimal is awesome too.

As long as you are eating healthy and not over doing it with working out I don't think it should be a problem unless you start dropping a large amount of weight.
