maternal age

Curious if I'm the only "older maternal age" mama in this group. I'm pregnant and I will be 40 two month before birth. My last child was born a week after I turned 37. I get nervous about the stigma placed on over 35 and worry about the obvious links with age and disability.

You?

I'm 35 and nervous to even think if another because of age.....my midwife says it's more about health than a number.

I was just complaining today that one of the things on my "problem list" at the OB is "advanced maternal age." Bleh! They're ridiculous!!! lol I'm 36. If it wasn't for the fact that I am actually carrying high risk twins, I'd fight the "high risk" label.

I'm probably one of the youngest, but I don't think there is anything wrong with having babies for as long as your body naturally allows :)

I'm 34 and pregnant with my second. I was 31 with my first. I don't see why I couldn't have another one in a few years.

I'm 35 and will turn 36 in July when this baby comes. When my mom was a practicing midwife, her oldest client was 48 and very healthy; she had a healthy baby.

I was 29 when I had my special needs son. I was31 when I had my last after a really scary abruption. Things happen at any age. Just take care of yourself and listen to your body
