I have been writing for fun for some time now, but i have been trying to find a good, honest publisher, that donot expect money up front, if any one know of anybody please let me know. by the way haave anyone ever heard of Dorrance publishing? (my books are children books)

Try the Children's Writer's & Illustrator's Market. Get the current year. It is a book that lists publishers, guidlines, contact info, and agents. It also has articles from authors, illustrators and editors with advice included. Join the SCBWI. I have not done this yet but would love to. They give advice and sometimes grants to authors they list conferences and have contests, and I believe you can get discounts through them on various things, etc.
