My 17 month old son started walking around 12 months old. When he would fall, he would bring his right foot and kinda sit on it. When he was on carpet, he would drag his foot underneath him and bring it out to begin walking again. In the picture below is his left foot and it's not as bad as his right foot which the scrape/burn is all the way down to his toes. His right foot has gotten to the point of bleeding at times.

At first, the burns healed and it was no big deal. Now they are becoming like calluses. I dont know what else to do for him. I've tried to put on socks, but he takes him off. I tried shoes, but it's the same thing. Before I go off to buying him those 'feety' pajamas, I would like to ask if any of your kids had this happen to them and what you did?

My daughter didn't have that. Sounds like just the way he's doing it. I'd try footy pajamas or a foot wrap and make sure he keeps it on.

You could try taping his socks on.  Use medical tape and just put a couple wraps around the top of his sock.  Not on the skin because that would cause irritation after a little while, but just around the top of the sock.  Just tight enough that he couldn't pull them right off.  If he's like most kids, after a few times trying to pull them off and not being able to, he'd probably lose interest and just go on his way.

If that doesn't work and he still gets the socks off,  I'd just go to footy jammies.  Poor little guy.  Hopefully it will resolve itself when he gets to where he's on his feet most of the time.

If someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and whack them in the head.

ok. The reason why I asked before talking to his pedi is because I dont really trust her opinion. In fact as soon as I can, I'm switching doctors. I guess I'll just try the little 'feety' jammies. I was looking at some today and Didnt really care how they looked.
