Hey ladies I was just wondering how all of you started playing WoW? Me, I was already a gamer but played COD4, I started playing WoW when I started dating my SO Leo. Leo had been playing WoW for about 4 years but i didn't know that when he asked what i thougt of the game. I amswered honestly and told him i thought it was a stupid game, in turn when he found out what game i played he asked how i could play something like that.. After finding out what the other played we pleaded our cases for our respective game we came to a conclusion. We decided to trade games, he would play COD4 and i would play WoW. Well he bought COD4 and lucky for me he used to work for blizzard he was given a second accont he very rarely used so he let me play on it. We played my game for a little bit and then for some reason not sure why but it messed up. We played his game and thats where we stuck so now i love playing WoW and will probably never go back to playing COD4..
Actually my husband looked into it when he was having to go ge hip surgery again(badly broken and hip surgery is a regular fact of life now), he needed something to keep from going mad. I was in my last trimester, hurt too much to get off the couch but my eye sight was going so reading was strain. He convinced me to try it after he'd been playing about a month. I just did it to please him because he wanted me to try it SO much. I just made a dwarf cause he had one... and chose the class with the big gun. roflmao The I realized I could have a pet and got hooked. The real clincher was when I created a second toon, a druid(if I can't have a pet, I'll be one!) and found my first guild, Suddenly, in this new city where I know nobody and have too many RL challenges to really go make friends, I actually had a social outlet! That was almost two years ago.
I kind of did the same thing as you, but my game was CS:CZ. I was so addicted and no one could stop me. I was in a community and everything (that's what we called guilds) But then something happened and we switched to wow. I tried to go back, but I was such a noob at it, I could've set the keys up differently like they are in wow, but was just lazy. Besides, all my extra time goes to wow. so... yeah :)
I am the one who had been sneaking around the game section at walmart. Had it in my cart at least 5 times and always put it back cause who needs to spend an extra $ 15 a month for a game. Since I couldn't get myself to buy it hubby got it for me for Christmas last year. One day after installing the game I was fighting for online time. Now we are adding a third and fourth account. Spreads like the flu. Before that I only played Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing and a few DS games.

Like the PP before WoW I had only played Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. I started WoW on a 10 day trial and almost gave it up because I had no clue what I was doing. I ran around in the woods getting killed by wolves the first few days. Finally someone helped me and I was hooked. I was so thankful when I got better and could finally drop the person who was helping me because he was clueless.
i always thought it looked dumb so i would never have tried it on my own. But one day my hubby came home from work and said he was talking to a co-worker and that guy said people sell thier accounts for hundreds of dollars. We figured we would try it and ended up getting hooked lol! We quit for a while shortly after ulldaar came out and just started to play again a few weeks ago.
Actually it was my oldest son who got me started. I was visiting him one summer and my youngest boy noticed the roommate playing a druid. The roommate let little boy AOE with the druid and then he was hooked. So my little guy kept asking if he could play and I bought the game and made a night elf hunter for myself and a night elf warrior for him. Eighteen months later the hunter is a little played 80 and the warrior is a level 14.
And I'm more hooked on this game than either of my boys. LOL
