  It will generate a one time use ramdom code for you to put in when you log into WoW.  You enter this code as well as your password to log into the game.  It is basicially just an extra level of security for your account that prevents key loggers from being able to hack your account.  Once ou have you account linked to the authenticator, you must have it to log in.

• You just assign your authenticator to your account from the website, then every time you log in you get this:

  

  Press your button, put your 6-digit key in, and you can log in. The authenticator generators a code only the blizzard server can read. They explained it at blizzcon but I forgot how it works. lol.

• It is a different code every time.  If it wasn't, a keylogger could also just get the code, but since it changes every use, it works great.  This is also why you always have to have it with you when you log in.

• I got two yesterday after reading on here that they were back in stock. I made it so far in the game I could not survive losing it all .

• Dang the new ones look cool, I got the other ones that just say blizzard on them.  Even though I dont have a bunch of crap and if someone hacked my account there isnt much they could do, I still didnt want to have to go through the crap of getting the account back.  Also becareful how you type there are some days it takes me 5 tries to get into my account because i hit one key wrong.

  I have the same boring Blizzard one too!  I wonder if they do an exchange program for a cool looking one?  ROFL.  One thing I have to say that sux about the authinticator...  when ya loose it you cant log in till ya find it.  My desk gets messy on pay days when Im going through bills and paying them...  I have lost my authenticator under papers several times and gone nuts trying to find the dang thing so I could get my wow fix!

• I have the blue and black tiger striped one. lol I've had it for a while and LOVE the extra security it gives me. lol I have over 5000g on my main and would lose my mind if I got hacked.  I put my auth on my house keys so I don't lose it.
