Well wensday I had to take my five year old with PDD Nos to his Psychologist. We got home and the first thing I did was bring sissy in the house so we wouldnt have to worry about her wondering off. We went back out for the 2 mins it took us to unload the car I walk in and sissys no where to be found. I start yelling for my husband to call 911 and i check all the neighbors she no where to be found I flag a sheriff down who driving around town we set up a search party. thankfully an hour later we find her safe skipping along the country road out side of town. I cried hysterically for an hour and tell her how happy I am to have found her safe and how scared I was. we had five adults at our house and she managed to sneak by all five of us. How am I supposed to go to work now I will constantly be worried about her. how can a 3yr old get passed five adults I am extremly horrifed at the thought of leaving her even for 2 sec
Wandering off is still the biggest safety concern we have, and my son is 11 years old. There are tracking devices available for our kids that work off GPS. I will see if I can find any websites for you. They are using these for Alzheimer's patients also.
I have read that most accidents happen to children at large gatherings. Because with lots of people around, you have a false sense of security. You all think someone's keeping an eye on them, you know what I mean? It's so true!!
I wish I had some great advice for you, but I guess it's just a sad reality we all share.
Sorry you had to have such a traumatic experience. I know how horrifying it is.
HUGS! Glad Sissy is safe!
