bath time woes

My daughter is 16 months and she HATES bath time.  she hates the running water, she hates just being near the tub.  I try to set it up before hand, but the secodns he gets naked and moved she knows what is going on and starts to freak out.  there is crying, screaming, red face, death grip on anything she can hold onto, and someitmes she even shakes.  I don't know what to do to make it fun for her.  I LOVED baths when iw as little, and she did too until we tried to bath her in the sink once wihtout a baby tub...now she jsut plain hates getting wet...i don't get it.  I always have some toys in the tub with her but she doesn't play with them.  She will grab onto a toy or two if i show them to her but thats all, she jsut holds them like someone is trying to steal them from her.  I've thought about trying to take a bath int he tub with her, but I am just scared of how slippery she will be and stuff.  Does anyone have actual experience with this and know of some thigns that maybe helped their kid get ebtter about the bath.  As of right now we only bathe her once a week, unless she gets like covered in soemthing.

My son was just like that, he was a screamer!  Bought a bath mat for the tub and hubby and him have play time in the bath together, its the only way!  My husband just gets in the bath with him, the first time it took about 10 min. to calm him down but not it is better.  I feel for you!

I would try getting in the bath with her until she changes her mind about baths.  Perhaps if you get in first and show her how much fun you are having, then put her in your lap.  If you are worried about her being too slippery try wearing those inexpensive knit gloves.  Good luck!
