Im new to this group. I have a 15 yr old daughter with Celiac. My mother also has the disease. I find it very frustrating and expensive to live G-free. Hoping to find new ideas.

It is very expensive! My sister in law (not dealing with celiac however she is vegetarian) get's a lot of her stuff from Amazon. She is a very savvey shopped so if she wasn't getting a deal, she wouldn't be doing it. Her family eats the same diet as well with the exception of the kids when it comes to "fun foods" and some meat. None of them suffer from CD or gluten sensitivity, so they can afford to stray a bit.
When I tested myself on a GF diet, I felt so much better. Do a lot of recipe searches, quick hints for GF eating.
Blessings to you and your daughter. I hope that she feels better very soon.
ONe wat is to cook very simply, meat & veggies as plain as you can stand for a while, then figure out which seasonings are safe. Look at the stickys. I am trying to post more ideas.
Welcome to the group! My son is 21 yr old and he was diagnosed at 17 yr old. It is frustrating! As a family, we eat mainly what he eats. We stick to a meat, vegetable and white rice or potatoes. There are alternatives when we have other things he cannot have. We have found gluten free spaghetti (he does not like) and frozen gluten free fish for a night we need something quick. It makes us all eat a little healthier. I have one son with Celiac Disease, one with Diabetes and my husband needs to eat heart healthy. Not an easy task! The prices are crazy. We get creative. Good luck!!
Thank you everyone for your helpful tips and encouragement!
