Hi. I was curious, among the gluten stuff does anyone notice issues
with corn and nut products? It seems like I can have some but in small
amounts. I a hoping I don't end up having to eliminate it too.
I don't know if my other sensivities are cleiac or fibro related (msg,
aspertame, perfumes,additives and preservaties)
Thanks, Daneene

I see an N.D. fairly regularly, and he does muscle testing for allergies. That has helped me figure out what I'm sensitive to. Soy is a huge one, dairy, corn, yeast, and although it didn't show up on my test, egg, along with gluten. Since eliminating those, I no longer have constant GI trouble. But it's not easy to stay away from that many foods. I am pretty much sick every time I eat out, so we don't very often. It's not easy, and I wish there was a better answer, but I'd rather be well!

If you are having issues the sensitivities to other foods I would strongly recommend getting skin tested for food allergies also. I have had diagnosed food allergies for years (I usually have diahera and get hives when I ingest those things) but they do not show up when they blood test me for them, only when they do skin testing (that is why I would be adament to have skin testing done).
My food allergies include corn, peanuts, tree nuts, seaseme seeds, flax seed, beans (all kinds), peas, and celery. Plus now that I have been diagnosed with the celiac too I have a terrible time finding food. Corn flour is a common substitution for wheat flour plus they already put corn (syrup or startch) in about everything under the sun to begin with.
Unfortunelty the only "cure" for food allergies (like with celiac) is to strictly monitor what you eat and avoid all forms of the foods you are allergic too for the rest of your life. It is difficult but I feel so sick when I cheat that I rarely do anymore... it is just not worth it.
I would also recommend talking to a dietician to get help reading labels (corn comes in many different names) and also help with finding foods to eat.
