to make soap from scratch you have to use lye.

since i have some kids that will not let me put them down or are always under my feet. i will not make soap from scratch. i use the goats milk melt and pour soap.

hubby was in agreement with not using lye till the kids are a lot older. it's just to dangerous in our opinion for us to try and make soap with our kids running around or into everything like they are.

is the recipe for your soap your own invention or is it something you've come across in a book?

i actually ran across one online and kind of use it for a general idea. i use honey and oatmeal in a goats milk base.
