I am so tired of getting messed over at work!!!  I was told in December of 2007 I'd be up for a raise soon - never got it, told in March of 2009 that I'd be getting either a raise or a percentage of each months massages as a bonus - never got either.   I was given a position as head of the massage dept, but that was taken away as we (the therapists) have been forced to become independent contractors instead of employees.  They wouldn't give us our last checks until we signed the contracts.  Then, today when they got our invoices for our hours, they tried to say they'd mail out our checks on the 13TH!!!!!!!  What are they THINKING!?!?  I called and threw a fit at the accountant's voicemail.  She called back and spoke to our billing lady, who said she apologized and said our checks would be issued in a day or two.

I'm so frustrated with them!!!  And the hardest working office girl walked out today, so that screws me up cuz she was the one who was making sure my schedule stayed full and would stay on top of things!

Okay. . . I think that's about it for my rant.

Love you all and hope all is well for you guys!!!

I am sorry that you are being treated this way.  How hard would it be to walk out and start your own business?

At this point in time it would be devastating for me to walk away.  It takes 3-5 years to build up a good enough client base to live off of.  And up until now, I didn't think I'd ever need to.  But it is something I'm working on.  My friend is spreading the word at his work (and it's a resort/adult living community) and has some people interested.  My sister (who lives an hour away) has her whole office lined up so I can start going up there two Saturdays a month to do massage.  So, it's a work in progress.

In the mean time, things at work were settling down, then getting all riled up again, then settling down again.  At this point, my boss is talking about bringing in yet another therapist.  He asked my opinion on that and I said I didn't much like the idea because it would potentially take away from my schedule.  I just found out he is already interviewing for the position.

But, I've found a GOD-given peace through it all.  I feel led to build up my personal client base and I know that things will be okay.  I want to stay where I am if they can get their acts together.  I have also worked up the courage (finally) to confront my boss (who is also sort-of a friend to my family) and ask about just how secure my job there is.

I'll keep ya'll posted as I move along.  Since they've forced me to become an independent contractor, I don't have to worry about the tax filing for my personal clientele (which was my hold-up before) because I already have to file now as a small business owner.

Since everything happens for a reason, I'm sure GOD has a plan through this and it will only be for the greater good.

I'm sorry you have to walk through this.  Sometimes I wish God would just give us flashing neon signs, His plans don't always make sense.  I will continue to pray for wisdom, courage and clear direction.  Know that I care about you and I mean  it when I say I am praying.

Thank you so much for your love and support!  I can feel your prayers and I appreciate them so much more than I could ever say:)
