Hi,
My name is Stefanie. I am a 33 year old SAHM, but I work twice a week at my son's Preschool. In my spare time I train dogs....actually I mostly have to train the owners :)
My husband and I are married since 2007 and have 2 boys, ages 7 and almost 5. We've moved here in October 2007. My husband is in the Army for 18 years now.
I am nothing but disappointed with being at Ft. Campbell. In my experience other Army wifes really don't want to have anything to do with others. I can't quiet get my head around it. Maybe it's because I don't live on Post, but I don't think that should matter.
It is very dissapointing, that even though many of us are in the same situation (meaning, husband deployed) we can't seem to pull together. Mostly I have met catty or bitter spouses.
Again, very disappointing.
I can't add much more, than to say that I've also been very disappointed with Ft. Campbell, but more to do with the lack of respect the women, around here, have for the sanctity of marriage. I've unfortunately experienced first hand women not caring that they are married or that my husband is married. It's like while the cats away the mice will play. It's very very frustrating. Fortunately for me, I have a great FRG and have alot of good neighbors, but I live on-post so I can't give you too much help with that. All in all Ft. Campbell seems like a nice place to be, but with all of the bad experiences I've had here, I can't wait to PCS somewhere else. I hope things start to look up for you :)
Hello, it is nice to meet you. I am sabrina i have a daughter who just turned 12 on friday. It is hard for me to meet anyone because I have an older daughter. Do you go to any of the FRG meetings? I am on the side of Wilma Rudolph if you would like to meet sometime. I am a SAHM my daughter is homebound right now and I go to APSU.
I am sorry to here that you feel this way about Campbell, but this isn't the only base that is like this. It is harder to get to know the wives more especially living offpost. With living off post we are all over the place. I think I have only been close to any of the spouses when my husband was deployed in Germany. A lot of the times some wives go home and do not stay around the base they are stationed at. And like me right now my husband isn't deployed yet. I put a thing for playdates on here but haven't heard anything.
Thanks for your replies, and I am so sorry to hear that other spouses didn't respect your marriage :( Guess in that way it's good for me to live off post ;)
My husbands unit's FRG is basically nonexsistent. I think they are trying to form one but there is a change of command again, so who knows how long it will be until I hear anything.
Anyway, it's not that I don't like the Clarksville area, I am just very disappointed in the lack of community here.
Well, I don't mind meeting up some time, that would be nice!!
Hello My Name is Billie. I know what you mean about how things can be here, but for me it is a bit different as I have my dad here he lives with us. SO I at least have him to talk to. Also we have a good group of people we know at church. We have one son who is 4 and I homeschool, but if you like to chat feel free to drop me a line.
