We got a beauitful new 3 month old boy. He is super sweet and learning very well. The only thing I'm having issues with is potty training. We have a 6 old weima and I would have thought he would have learned quicker. Any helpful tips anyone may have would be great.

Our puppy is about 10 months old now.
It also took forever for him to potty train!

Put a bell on your door, low enough for him to reach and teach him to bump it with his nose when he needs to go out.  This works great!

Good Luck!

Jake was already trained when I got him. The funny thing is, he doesn't stand by the door or bark when he has to go out. He comes to wherever I am and paws at me. I finally learned that means he has to go out. Usually, it's about 5 am when he comes to my room and wakes me up by pawing me. The lady I got him from said he was hard to train, but once he learned it was a breeze. Good luck.

I started by taking Alaina out every hour or so.  At night she would sleep in her kennel.  That really helps since they don't potty where they sleep, so first thing in the morning we would go outside and of course she would go right away and I would give her lots and lots of praise!

My girl doesn't have a problem peeing inside the house.  They have free reign of the house and the back door is always open so she knows to go outside when she has to go pee.  BUT, during the night, she'll wake up and start barking/crying to be let out.  I'll take her out, she'll pee, come back into her bedroom and a couple of hours later, she'll cry again.  It's frustrating!

I agree with the bell on the door we also did this and our weim always used it.... we now have indoor/outdoor cats and they will both also hit the bell to go out since we don't keep a litter box inside

Get your potty training resolved? How's the pup doing? He's got to be a year old now, right?
