Hi there!  I just joined the group today - I was excited to see a weim lover's group on CM!

Today is the 1 year anniversary of my big blue boy Kam's death.  He bloated with torsion at only 18 months.  We rescued him when he was 9 mos old.  He was here on earth with us only a short time, but will live forever in our hearts!

Kam was a big, goofy, 100lb puppy.  He was terribly underweight at 79lbs when we brought him home, and nursed him to a lean mean drooling machine by the time he died.  He was VERY tall, too, about 28 inches at the withers.

After we rescued Kam, I became obessed with the breed.  I joined a weim rescue and fostered for the first time.  After Kam died, and the foster left, we met another match, Darby.

Darby was 5 yo girl with hip dysplasia, but she looked like the white right weim for us!!  We adopted her last July, and she truly is a pain in the butt like no other, haha, but we love her dearly!  She turned 6 in January and we're looking forward to celebrating her 1 year with us very soon!

We also have a 12yo samoyed named Glacier, who tolerates Darby because she has no choice!  Odds are, when big G passes on, we'll probably rescue another weim.

How's that saying go???  Weims are like potato chips, you can't have just one!!!

HI there. Welcome. I've always wanted a Weim and two years ago had the chance to get one from someone who was giving him away. His name is Jake and he weighs almost 100 lbs. I can't picture my life without him. My husband loves him to death. I've been wanting another one but hubs says we can't afford another one. We also have a cat. They are just now starting to finally get along. I'm glad you joined. Post pictures of yours, we all brag about our Weims.

Welcome to the group! We're so glad to have you! I am still on my first weim, her name is Kona and she's about a year and a half old now.

Here's her playing with my son. She's been an amazing addition to our family. Once our poor old lab passes away we either want another weim or maybe a vizsla.

Sitting pretty for me on Mother's Day.
