I have a Simplicity SE3.  Nothing fancy and can only embroider 4x4 area.  I did not want anything too big or the 2 in 1.  I wanted something simple and easy to use.  I love mine and have used it for 3 years.  I do not do anything big.  It's all in what you are looking for.

I have a Janome 10001.  I would love to upgrade to the 11000!   I just love my Janome machine.

I just received the Singer CE-250 as a gift. Haven't even taken it out of the box.  Am anxious to get it going.  I am waiting for my laptop to get out of the shop (tomorrow) so I can play all weekend!!! :o) Glad I found this group!

I am new to the group. The machine I have
is a Brother combo sewing/embroidery and
it is the NV1000, it has a 5x7 emb field and
I have several friends who got machines this
year and they are limited to 4x4 only they really
wish now that they had gone with a machine
that would allow them to do 5x7 designs.

Here are a few sample of some of the designs
I have done on recently.

I was commissioned to make 7 of these trucks
for a friend who is putting the blocks into memory

The above designs were made to use for
fabric post cards and mailed out for "wacky"
holidays (sewing machine day, jugglers day, hug day & smile day).

I have had my machine since December 2006
and am very happy with it, although I do dream
of someday having enough money to buy a machine
that is of the "industrial" kind so that I can set it
up with more then 1 thread color at a time and let
it do its thing.

Oh well nice to dream about but not likely to happen
anytime in the near (or distant) future.

Just THINK about what you want to make and
go for what is within your budget. I have another
friend who bought the Brother PE700ii and just
LOVES the machine it can do 5x7 and she spent
about $800 (1/2 of what mine cost me).

This is of course just my 2 cents worth of advice.
I know that there are many who may not agree
with me on it.

I use a Melco professional machine and WIlcom EDS software for digitizing.  I've been doing this for over fifteen years.  SInce I digitize files for other embroiders, including those with home-machines, I sometimes run into problems that I am unable to solve for my clients.

Right now, I have a woman with a (newer) Pfaff.  I did a design for her, which came out great, but she cannot read the pfaff formats (I don't know how her machine is formatted, and neither does she!  She is very new to the biz.  Anyway;  she does not have a program to preview her designs on computer screen (which I found very odd, but maybe she has it, yet has not downloaded it?)./  Can anyone help me to help her to reformat her machine to read pfaff files?  Or, would anyone know what sorts of files (other than PES) that she COULD read with a pfaff?

Here's the design;  I hate to take her money, even at discounted professional rates, unless she CAN use it.  Thanks so much!  -- for me, and for her (I am sure)!
