My Front Porch

I’m sitting on my front porch on this afternoon.

Reflecting on my life on this day.

There’s little in this lifetime that we can call free.

But sitting on my swing, this is what I see.

God’s great creation and all that He brings.

Birds singing softly, squirrels playing in the trees.

Flowers blooming in my front yard of every color shape and size.

Fruit growing on the vine, food on the table that you have supplied.

Sunshine and blue skies clouds floating slowly by.

Rain for the farmers, flowers and green grass.

Life here on my front porch moves a bit slowly as the sun goes down.

As I know tomorrow will bring much the same.

So as I sit on my front porch and watch this life go by.

I think of those who have entered and have gone.

God, you’ve given me so much and you’ve blessed my life this day.

As I sit on my front porch swing away.

God I thank thee daily for the places that I’ve seen.

Spring in the Mountains, snow on the ground, waves on the oceans, golden wheat swaying gently on the breeze.

But mostly Lord I thank thee for bringing me back home.

For sitting on my front porch life is good at home.

You have given me friends too numerous to count.

Family that’s seen its ups and downs, and yet here we still are together on this fine day which you have made.

Sitting on my front porch swinging away.

Lord I feel your presents here as I swing on this porch.

Lord won’t you come swing with me for a small time?

I know you are here for I see your breath as the wind chimes are all calling softly.

I feel your Angel’s here as well as they sing your praise in what nature brings.

Lord I come to you on bended knee as I wait for you to answer me.

What is it that you ask of me this day Lord as I stay on bended knee.

I am quite and still as I wait for your answer my Lord on this day.

On my front porch I’m quite and still so I can hear what you have to say.
