Its one thing for me to accept me for my size. I came to realise how I get to this. I wasnt encouraged to eat healthy or play outside. Infact I had to stay inside to take care of my siblings. Food became a major comfort when nothing else was. My daughter will be 3 in about 2 months and I cant help but hope that it'll be better for her. She's at the age where she eats what she wants which is hotdogs and whatnot. She doesnt eat veggies. Yelling at her at this point doesnt seem to help or work. We are trying our best. I just cant help but be concerned. I dont want to grow up to be a couch potato so I make myself go outside and play w her. Compared to where I was w my childhood I think she's going to do better.

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever felt the same way and what you do about those feelings. Thanks.

I wasn't overweight until I had kids so I don't reallt think about it. I make sure my kids eat a variety of food and go outside at least once a day. I HATE going outside by the way. LOL. I don't want them to be like my husband was as a kid which was sitting in his room playing video games literally all day. I know when they get older I will have a strict time limit for video games and TV and stuff. It might make me sound like a bitch or whatever but Im determined my kids are not going to be couch potatoes!

Its been a long time since my daughter was a child.  But when she was little, she used to spend a lot of time outside, alone with a pet, with us, or a friend, playing.  I tried to cook balanced meals, although I worked full time.  When she reached about the age of 12, she decided she was getting too big.  With heart disease and overweight in our family, she decided enough was enough.  She became a vegetarian, and began working out nearly everyday.  Eventually she lost 40 pounds, and never did give up on exercise.  She has recently began eating limited meat, remains physically fit, and, is strict about eating junk food.  Even though her husband is over 6 feet tall, and about right for his height, while she is a little over 5 feet tall, and about 120 lbs.
