It's been a long time since I wore a baby ;) I had 2 slings that were kind of like backpacks--they were awful! My friend had one last week that was like a long shawl, and she had to wrap it herself. It looked really neat and adjustable, kwim. I'll see her tomorrow and ask her about it. It looked like something I would have used.

I got a ring sling from someone it says its a large and there is plenty of room for adjustment. I'm 5'6 and weighing about 275 a size 24/26 on top and bottom.
I use the Maya Wrap Ring Sling in xtra large (basically the biggest one they have - it's the one with the padding in it). I'm 5'8 and 240lbs right now and I carry my 2 month old in it all the time with no problem. I make it loose or as tight as I want.

I had an awesome sling called a Hotsling. It was a single piece of fabric sewn in a circle and you can wear it on front a couple different ways from the time they are newborn, then it transitions to a hip carrier for year olds, and then once they are toddlers you can wear it on your back. You can google them, they are awesome and you measure yourself for them.
I was going to post this very question today!
Has anyone tried multiple styles and foudn you ahve a prefernece?
I think I want to go with a moby wrap or a loveyduds (she is an ETSY seller) but I'm not sure if a wrap is the best way to go :\
Any advice on ones to avoid?
