Has anyone here tried Overeaters Anonymous? I know there's a few groups in my area, but I'm a little nervous about whether to try to go to one of the meetings. Do they help? I've been plus sized most of my life, but it's been even worse the last couple of years because I can't stop overeating.
I've been to 1 Over-eaters Anonymous meeting. Their process is like AA (alcoholics anonymous). Im an over eater. I tried the meeting and I couldnt sit through it. I cant figure out why. . The group only visited only had 5 memebers and since I didnt give it a 2nd or 3rd try I cant tell you the results. I think you should give it a try. You have nothing loose and possilbly everything to gain.
I have thought about this, too. I know where the group meets in my town. Honestly, I just don't have time. My husband works crazy hours and I never know if he will be home in time to take the wee one so I can go to a meeting. I am curious how it works, too, though. I hope you get some more responses from people who have tried it!
Yeah I am a binger because my Mother always made us clean our plate and also drilled into my head that if I am going to start something then I better finish it! The best thing I can recommend is not to buy your trigger foods, portion out what you can as soon as you can and out of sight/out of mind. Good luck!
I personally dont do well in groups because for me it is embarrassing and not something I woud admit to easily. (Easier to do online though)
