I'm new here and wondering if anyone on here lives near Clinton, AR??  I have a 10 year old son and my husband just retired from the Army after 20 years.  We moved here from our last duty station in Texas.  We have just recently opened a business in downtown Clinton.  Look forward to meeting other Moms in the area..

I do not blame you at all for homeschooling.  The public school system is not that great anywhere in the U.S.

I started homeschooling years ago when my oldest, who is 20 was 8. She was in school at Greers Ferry and I had liked that school. I graduated from there, but it just wasn't the same.

I hada friend who homeschooled and so I finally decided that I would try it for a semester and see how it went. I pulled my two school kids then ages 8 and 6 out of school, and I have never looked back.

It really is a lifestyle change. We love it!!Anything can be a learning experience, even a trip to the store.

How long have you lived in Clinton? Do you like it?

I have been here 4 years, but my husband was born and raised here.  I like it ok, but I miss living in Heber Springs...Every once in awhile I go back to Heber just to go to my favorite places lol

We have lived here since the end of November 2011.  I like it, but I really really miss the beach where we lived in Texas.  I grew up in Little Rock and refuse to raise our son in the city.  Clinton would be great if we just had a few more restaurants and stores.  My husband and I run the new appliance store in town.  Our son loves the Clinton school and so far I haven't had many issues with it either(Thankfully)

I didn't know there was a new appliance store in town??

I grew up in South Florida and I lived in Corpus Christi so I know what you mean about missing the beach.

Yeah I wish there were some better restaurants here in town. If you want to go out for a nice meal you pretty much have to go to Conway.

I'm glad you are having good luck with the school. I haven't heard one way or the other about them, but my husband went all thru school in the Clinton schools and he seemed to like it.

We moved to Clinton the end of November  and opened our business in January.  I'm always looking to meet new people.
