Ohhh, Hugs,, girl. I feel for you.  Try not to pay attention to the horror stories.  Try to relax and enjoy making a new person.

I'm not pg but when I was I smoked. The anti-smoking Freddy Krueger stories hadn't reached the same fever pitch it has today.

Just concentrate on taking care of yourself as much as you can, take it easy and in a month or so you'll be pinching some cute little baby butt. LOL

Best thoughts and wishes for you and yours.

SIDS is scaring me TO DEATH! I smoke about a pack a day.... and I can't seem to slow down... even keeping busy, my cigs keep disappearing (no my b/f isn't stealing them, he smokes menthol) I'm 35 weeks and so far, baby seems fine, but I've heard too many stories and my mind is running crazy, therefore, my nerves are up and I'm smoking more than I realize.
Am I the only one here?

i smoked the whole time i was pregnant with my first. he is 5 now and healthy as can be. I was also young i got pregnant at 16 so "risks" were higher. But i gave birth to a 7lb 9 oz baby no problem. I am recently pregnant (2 months) and still smoking. I do try to cut down, becuase Im tired of hearing my fiance's family telling me its so bad for the baby. There has no been certain scientific results saying smoking has caused anything. There are many non smoking healthy freak pregnant women who have WAY more problems than us smokers!!

totally the same thing I am going thru. I have tried to quit all this pregnancy and just can't, it's wierd, I totally understand how you feel, I am at 37 weeks now, and freaking out. I know someone who smoked thru their three pregnancies and the kids were fine, just was told not to smoke in the house once baby arrives. I wish you the best of luck....we both need it! and the stress of quitting just doesn't help does it?

No, the STRESS of quitting DOESN'T help at all. Actually, my OB/GYN told me that QUITTING WOULD be MORE stressful so if I could'nt quit...DON'T WORRY ABOUT QUITTING!

True. Im 25 wks now and baby is great. I smoked with ds too and he was a 10 lb baby i dont get all the hype against smoking while pregnant because something COULD happen. Last i knew sids and premature birth and low birthweight can happen to anyone not just smokers. So why do they get on us smokers about it so much? Just doesnt make sense to me.

Well I am 11 weeks, but my biggest problem and was during my first pregnancy too, was that when I put a cig in my mouth to light it, I gag really bad, I mean I have puked just from that 2 second holding it in my mouth...what gives???

Well this was one of the ways I figured I might be preggo was because this started happening all the time, so that was good to find out but still...gross!

I feel the same way. I am currently 26weeks pregnant and smoking MORE than I did when I wasn't pregnant. I have no idea what's going on. SIDS scares the cra* out of me!!!!!!!
