And, while nursing, I blew the smoke over her head. The ciggerett pack said " LOW BIRTH WEIGHT" Sounded good to me. Well, she was 7lbs and healthy as a baby could be. She's now 23yrs old, healthy (and always has been) and she doesn't smoke. My mother smoked while pregnant with 6 kids and we're all healthy.

I am pregnant now and smoking but not too happy about it.  Hubby keeps bothering me about it but he smokes RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE!!!!!!!

I smoked through all my pregnancies and they all turned out text book. My daughter from my first marriage is also a smoker (she started at 14 and is 19 now) and is due to give birth in October and hasn't cut back at all during pregnancy. She saw me smoking through the births of my kids in my second marriage and saw them turn out just fine and her mum happy.

I smoked right through my pregnancy 1½ packs a day and had my last smoke outside the entrance to the hospital. He came out a nine pounder and very healthy. If smoking while pregnant gives smaller babies I wonder how big he'd have been if I'd quit. Now I smoke 2 packs a day and if I get pregnant again I'll smoke right through that too.

I smoked during both my pregnancies. Both my kids are healthy. No problems with either one of them. The ob tried to get my to quit trying to tell me smoking was causing my blood clots. I proved her wrong when the regular dr told me that it wasn't caused from smoking but from pregnancy. So I never quit!

i am 31 weeks.... and i have been trying to quit the entire time.. i feel guilty every time i light up.

As of right now, during the ultrasound they are saying her right lower bones (her tibula and fibula) are growing at a slower rate and are smaller.

Now i am stuck with the guilt that i could have caused this..... i feel horrible.... the doctor did say that he doubts smoking caused it.. but i cant help but wonder..

And please no bashing.. this is my firast post in this group. I torture myself enough...

Almost all of us in here did smoke while pregnant.  And to give you even more support just remember that over 400,000 expectant moms smoked during their entire pregnancy.  That's alot of mom's !!!!

There is still plenty of time for your child to catch up on her growing.  There is no need to feel guilty about smoking at all and there is no need to hide it.  In fact every time you light up just think of us in this group and the 400,000 other moms standing right behind you lighting up too.  A healthy pregnancy is all about having a positive attitude so just think how emotionally distraught you would be without cigarettes.  Did you ever think that you might not be smoking enough?  Yep!!! thats right!!!   Try smoking a little more to calm down and gather your thoughts.

Listen, we are all right here to help you and cheer you on to your birth date and beyond.  I honestly know everything will be fine.  I smoked with all three of my pregnancies and my children are all healthy.  With my DD i smoked well ova a pack a day.  Everyone is different, but you need to find your confort zone.

Me too. They weren't that big (well my son was 7 13) but the girls were 6 6, 6,12, and 6 10. Healthy as a horse. I smoked when we were in the hospital too.
