I can't believe I found a group on here for this... All the other groups usually just bash ya for it... And its the only hard thing that I am faced with and can't talk about!
So I'm 31 weeks.. and haven't been able to stop... I've tryed! No one knows I hide it from everyone and its horrible... To make things worse there is something wrong with her leg the tibula and fibula are measuring 6 weeks behind the other leg. I feel so guilty.. did smoking cause this... And this only stresses me out more.. and makes it even harder to cut back... Please no bashing really need support!

Have you talked to your doctor about it?

1 mom liked this

quiting is never easy i quit for both my pregnancies but i had slip ups and would smoke here and there, its not easy at all, just try and remind your self to cut back alittle give your self a limit of how many cigs you can have a day or a week. stress doesnt help matters so just try to relax and find some thing to keep you busy maybe read a book, find some kind of hobbie make a blanket for the baby etc.! like i said its not easy but just do the best you can ! :)

It is not easy to quit, even if you have the best of reasons for doing it.  I managed to quit with my 3, but it was difficult and there were failures along the way.  Just do your best, and don't stress if you don't do at once, you're only human!  I would also check with your doctor as to the possible causes, and see if there is anything that can be done to improve the situation.  Also I will be thinking about your little one and hope it goes well.

I did cut down when I was pregnant but I never could quit all the way.  My daughter was 7# 8 oz and she was perfectly healthy.  Don't beat yourself up about it.

There's not enough studies that smoking during pregnancy causes slow bone growth.
Honestly it was hard for me to smoke when I was pregnant because I was do neaseous all the time. But I did have a few a day. I had high blood pressure during my pregnancy because of all the stress of not having enough money and being young. I was put on hospital bed rest. I beat myself up thinking it was the smoking but I'll never know. That's the thing about being pregnant, you'll never know if you did something to effect your baby. Even my sister who didn't smoke wonders if she ate different foods or took more vitamins during her pregnancy if her son would still have eye troubles. Best of luck to you.
