That I have Adenomyosis possibly with endiometriosis...my gynes (yes 2 came in to consult me) and asked me 3 times where we stood on havign more kids...well at the end he told me from the looks of the ultrasound I have Adenomyosis. so now I have to have "exploratory" surgery to make sure that is all...have any of you had this done or haev the same condition?
I had this "exploratory" surgery before I had my hysterectomy and what I have found out after seeing many doctors and doing hundreds of hours of research is that, the "exploratory" surgery as you refer to it, is most often not needed, but most insurance companies require that you have one before they will cover the cost of the hysterectomy. My doctor told me that I needed a hyster and it was going to be our only option, but my insurance company required him to do a LAP before they would pay for the hyster. So I had a LAP, then 4 months later, I had a hysterectomy.
It is really no big deal. I had one, I was a little sore, not enough to take any thing for the pain and I couldn't move without discomfort, but it only lasted two weeks than I was resuming normal activities until my hysterectomy.
I am so sorry for your diagnosis and I wish you the best of luck, but you have come to the right place for support. If you have any other questions, email me anytime. =)
