Just down right grouchy after having a total hysterectomy?  Now I don't mean just a little put out, I am talking down right bitchiness!  I have never been like this and I really don't like the way I am feeling.  Maybe its the lack of sleep, but I have been a not so fun person to be around as of late!  Is this normal gals or am I just gonna be up for bitch of the year?!

I had some trouble hormonally after my hyst.  I wasn't bitchy, but I was really weepy!  I mean REALLY weepy.  I still have one ovary though, and have had some trouble with my hormones going crazy.  Thankfully, I have a very understanding family.  You may want to talk to your doc and tell him/her what you're experiencing.  Hormones are very touchy and can make you behave in weird ways.  Best of luck to you, Dear!

I was very lucky.  My doctor, who is so wonderful, put an estrogen patch on me before I even woke up in recovery.  That was over a year ago.  I've been off of HRT for a few months now, and am only experiencing an occasional hot flash.  I got a touch grouchy, if you will, for a short time after stopping HRT, but I don't seem to have any real issues now.

You should definitely talk with your doctor about  your hormones.  They can make all the difference!

Good Luck and Merry Christmas :o)

I have never been on any Hormonal drugs. I had very mild hot flashes. The only problem I've had is weight gain. I have a hard time in the exercising department. As for bitchiness, I have none.typingbaseballin love

Sadly my hormones weren't normal before my surgery and after it has been touch and go.  I still have both ovaries so the doctor doesnt want to put me on HRT but sometimes I just go off and I don't know why. It is frustrating because everyone tells me I need hormone pills and my doctor says no.

However, talking with your doctor would be the best course that way they can keep an eye on your condition...sometimes minor hormone treatment is necessary...Finding time to relax is a help for me...I take my shower time very seriously because it is the only private time I have..I have relaxing music, bathroom scents (I dont use candles because I might knock them over but the plug ins are awesome), and 20 minutes of me and the water...

Hello Heather. I just now saw your post from way back then. I am new on here. I know from my experience of just having my right overy and uterus taken out, i was always crying  one min then i was so mad the next. And yes i was being very ugly. Finally after  5 years or so that went by, i was told that i was into my menopause with the results  of some blood work. So i went on my estrogen. Have you been put on anything? I feel a lot better and laugh more in such a long time. I am not as crabby and i sleep alot better too. And of course.. behind the doors a great too.    Let me know.  Been there, done that.

I had had problems with hormones dating back to before my hysterectomy, but I found that I got very depressed rather than bitchy. After the op they put me on HRT straight away and things have been much better - no bitchiness and less frequent depression.

I would discuss how you are feeling with your doctor. Your hormones might be all out of sync.

Good luck. :-)
