TAH pain

I had a TAH with everything being taken. As my son states "gutted out" about one year ago.  I also had two infections within my incision.  During that time I had started having burning prickling pain.  When I went back after 3 months the dr stated that that wasn't uncommon considering my infections. I most likely have nerve damage as my incision is really red and may take about a year to feel better.

We'll I am still having the same issues.  I have pain, burning pain and prickling pain still.  I havent' been to the drs due to the fact that I don't have the money for more dr bills as I am still paying off the bill from the TAH.  I was given some nerve pain pills at my 3 month visit which does help to an extent.

ANYONE else had any of this kinda pain?  I did look it up on the internet and this isn't all that uncommon.  Thanks ladies for your imput.

Hi Sonja :o)   I'm so sorry you are still going through this!  That really bites!  I wish I had a miracle to share, but I am sad to say, I do not.  I honestly think it's just something you may have to deal with for a while.  I know this won't comfort you at all, but I had my gallbladder out, when I was 19.  They didn't do it laparascopically back then, so I have a large incision.  It had to be so large, because the gallbladder is under the liver, and they don't take any chances damaging the liver, so the incision has to be large.  Anyhoooo.....I also had nerve damage from that.  I had the same type of symptoms you are experiencing for several years, and to this day, every once in a while, I have a twinge there.  There really isn't a lot they can do for nerves.  Some re-attach, and some do not.  It's really a hit a miss situation.

As I said, I know this really doesn't help you, but the only comfort is that it's nothing serious to worry about!

Sorry I don't have better info for you :o(

Penny
