i don't know what to expected and what will happen ..how will i feal ..Will i be the same will have have the same sex dive?? can any one give me details ..ty
Hi there,
It varies from woman to woman, and it depends on what kind of hysterectomy you have as well. An Abdominal hysterectomy is going to have a longer recovery time than a vaginal or laprascopy.
it also depends on if they leave your ovaries or not. If they take them and your young, you'd need some sort of hormone replacement therapy. But they would only take both of your ovaries if there was a reason to, usually they leave at least one.
I dont have either ovary, and even at that, being on HRT at 31, I feel pretty darn good now. But it wasnt an overnight thing, little by little I started feeling better.
Just remember to take good care of yourself after the surgery. let the dishes go, forget doing laundry, and if you have kids for the love of god get someone to keep them for you or come help with them at first.
I think the main issues w/ sex drives is if you have a hysterectomy like I did and have no ovaries. But, even at that I still have a sex drive, thanks to hormone replacement therapy. I could be wrong though, there might be some ladies here who have had experience w/ that.
As crazy as it sounds..I think the best thing to do is have a positive attitude. I went in there viewing my surgery as a new beginning, a fresh start, a chance to get healthy and stay that way for good.
*big hugs* and best of luck to you! It's going to be okay..just relax and breathe..
thank u..i,m having a lazier and keeping my ovaries..yea my ex has he kids for a week.. my doc say ed i can have sex 3 days later..i hope it don't affect my sex drive.thanks mama
