I have not been on Cafe Mom in god only knows how long. I am very blessed to have all the members you all on my son and life. My son Tanner is almost 3 years old in December. We have since moved from California to Pennsylvania and he know goes to Shriner's Hospital in Erie, PA. He has long since had an achilles lengthing, and a pereneal lengthing. The Procedure took all but 10 min. it just literally broke my heart walking in to the recovery room seeing him so tired and crying the tears the size of rivers running down his cheeks. He was so scared. After he was calmed down he were allowed back to our room for him to fully wake up and a few hours later they let us come home. I involved him in the whole process. Trying to explain everything to him at 2, that Mommy had gone through all of this too. He picked out his own cast color, brace design. At this point he will be 1 year from his surgery in Jan. and he has a follow up coming next March. I haven't noticed a huge difference, but I am hopefully that he will grow up without any problems. I just found out that baby #2 is on it's way. I am a little anxious about it but a little nervous about going through all of this again. The genetic counseling, club foot, another baby. Im sure that somewhere inside I will prepare myself as time goes by and look at my little angel Tanner and how far he has come. Club foot is just a speed bump as my husband calls it. Something that can be fixed, changed, helped, not a big deal. So with Tanner almost 3 and baby number 2 due in May, all i have is the utmost confidence that everything will be just fine. And to all of you worried or scared about your children having it, it is just a speed bump. Something small you can come up and over with time. And thanks again to all of those who have joined and kept this group growing. God Bless you all!!
