Does anyone know about flexible clubfoot?
The bottoms of my dds feet face each other, but they can be twisted into a neutral position.
Im just wondering the likely hood of having to get casts vs. stretching.
She wont see dr. M (in iowa) until shes 6 weeks old!

If you dont mind me asking, what doctor did you see?
Im thinking my dd might not need the casts because their so flexible, but Id almost rather her get them just in case it gets worse as she gets older. I dont want something to be over looked resulting in surgery or not being able to walk.
Here is a picture of them. Thats the natural way they are, but you can twist them into the right position.
I have to wait until the 5th to see the doctor, and Im so anxious. Im so worried, I wish time would go quickly so I know whats going to happen :(

I would recommend seeing another Dr and getting the cast my son's foot wasn't flexiable but All clubfeet are to be casted
If you are going to see Dr. M in Iowa your are in the best care possible. Don't worry he will take great care of your daughter. Do not worry about not getting in until April 5th while the earlier the better there are many kids that don't get started right away and with the right doctor things will work out great. My son sees Dr. Vincent in Arizona. He has worked very closely with Ponseti and I am very confident with him. Like I said you are in great hands.
My son had positional club foot and would go into the correct position when exercised. We kept exercising for a month but in the end we did need the braces but luckily enough casts were not needed. Within a few weeks the feet went exactly where they were suppose to. He is now 7 months and only wears them at night just to be cautious, at a year we should be done with them.
