Bi-Lateral Clubbed Foot Son

My son is now 19 months old, and was born with bi-lateral clubbed feet. He had go threw the serial casting when he was a week old for about 7 weeks, and then had moved on the the Dennis Brown shoes and bar bracing. As he got older he would not tolerate the bar on, and eventually he figured out how to get the shoes off. Now he is schedualed for surgery on the 28th of this month. And the more research i do about the surgery the more scared I'm getting about him under going the surgery and I'm really thinking about backing out of it. At this point I'm just really unsure of what to do and really need some other mom's/parents that can relate to my situation.

They didn't suggest trying the Ponseti-Mitchell shoes and bar before jumping straight to surgery??

Do NOT do the surgery without a second or third opinion. Get to Iowa if you can. Surgery isn't necessary!!

my son has had three surgerys for the bi-lateral clubbed feet and it is in more cases then not the best thing to do is let them do the surgery my sons feet keep relapsing he is 4 now and has to go to shriners because they are turning back in if you can try to do shriners they specialise in clubbed feet

I agree. We are luck enough to live in Iowa, and if u could get here to see dr. M you might be able to avoid surgery!
