So next Monday my middle son has an appointment in UT to meet with an Orthopedic dr for his clubbed feet. My question is does anyone know what to expect from this first appt.

Here is the back ground my Middle son Adam was born with bilateralclubbed feet his big toes were touching the in side of his legs. He has had 3 surgeries  on at 2 mo. 6 mo. and 2 years and his feet are turning back in he is 4 now. there is no real know reason why this happens but my family has history of it and of my me and my three sisters i am the only one who has a child with this condition.

I guess i am just worried the last drs we went to said he will always be in pain and will never be able to really play sports but the dr was not specialised in his condition. he may even have hip and knee problems to go with the bilateral clubbed feet. I just wish my son didn't have to hurt anymore the plus side is he does not let his feet slow him down he tries to just be a normal kid which a 4 year old should never have to go throw.

We went through them for a while before we moved due to the army... My MIL has a friend who was born with Clubfeet and she played soccer and it helped her the best .... My son has had 2 operations the first was just the heal cord cut the 2nd was to release all his tendons in his foot they put a pin in his foot and it was there for 6 wks then the dr pulled it out in the office and that helped his foot alot...  The first appt will be to evaluate the feet and then they may put him in a cast right then and there and will change it every week if they need to and then they will talk about either A more surgery wearing the bar and shoes more and for the day time AFO's my son has both..

I agree with the PP.. Your first appt will probably be to evaluate the feet and see what severity they are and talk with you about his background with them (treatments, drs, and whatnot) if they believe he needs casting they will more than likely go ahead and put the first set on then, if they determine another surgery is needed they still will probably do casting prior to this to achieve the correction needed before the surgery takes place. If you don't mind me asking, what type surgeries has he had this far??

Is it the surgery they refer to as the ATTT? Where they move the tendon from the outside of the foot to the middle/inside of the foot?
